I am referring the western in the PNAS paper in particular. If you have run a western, you should know that the bands should have a very similar curvature, and the ends of the bands should form a nice line (straight or curved). I therefore doubt that he actually did the western and had the original gel picture. The western in the Nature Medicine paper is suspicious too for the same reason.
